Job Summary/Qualifications:
Star Sewer & Water District has an opening for Collection System Operator II or III at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Individual performs a variety of general labor and skilled tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment equipment at wastewater collections and treatment facilities; operates heavy equipment; cross trains with the plant system operators; and performs related work and tasks as required.
It is essential that the applicant be able to respond to emergency situations at wells, in the distribution system, lift stations and wastewater treatment plant in Star, ID within 30 minutes of notification. Applicant must have the ability to provide phone support and troubleshooting help for operators during normal working hours and after hours should the need arise. In addition, applicant must be available to be on call for one week every month.

Acceptable Experience, Training, and requirements:
Collection System Operator II– High School diploma or GED; and at least two years of training or experience to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform the above tasks; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. Possession of a current and valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement, would prefer a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement. Possession of a Class II Wastewater Collections System Operator II License issued by the State of Idaho.

Collections System Operator III– High School diploma or GED; and at least three years of training or experience in wastewater collections; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. Possession of a current and valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement, would prefer a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement. Possession of a Class III Wastewater Collections System Operator License issued by the State of Idaho.
